Baby: Week 14

Your lungs haven’t breathed air yet, but you’re inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid

Your eyes now face forward; [1] you can frown and squint using strong face muscles, and can see light through your sealed eyes.[2] You’re practicing for your future boxing career, flexing your muscles, making hard fists and punches, and even a kick or two! You may also have discovered your first toy, the umbilical cord, which is fun to pull and grab. 

The ear bones are now in place, meaning that you can hear music and singing and talking![3] Your head is more erect than it has been and the circulatory system and urinary tract are fully functioning.  Your lungs haven’t breathed air yet, but you’re inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid.[4]
