Baby: Week 16

Mum can see your movements—kicking, flexing, thumb sucking, and perhaps can tell what sex you are!

You are 12cm long and weigh about 190g. Your chest moves up and down and blood vessels are visible through your skin.

Your mother gets a peek at you for the first time this week, with an ultrasound exam to assess your  growth and development, gestational age, and to detect problems that need attention. Mum can see your movements—kicking, flexing, thumb sucking, and perhaps can tell what sex you are![1]
