Mam: Pregnant 12 weeks (Baby 10 weeks)
This month, you might not be the only one in the house who feels pregnant!
Your energy levels should continue to improve, and you’ve gained anywhere from 0.6kg - 2.3kg (1.5 - 5lb). Is all your weight gain ‘baby’? Not exactly. Your breasts and placenta will also gain weight between now and delivery, and the uterus, the amniotic fluid and the extra blood in your system account for more weight. It’s normal to gain between 10 - 13kg (22-28lb) throughout the nine months.[1]
This month, you might not be the only one in the house who feels pregnant! Fathers-to-be can experience empathetic pregnancy symptoms, like morning sickness, cravings, and weight gain. This is called couvade, or ‘hatching,’ and typically occurs during the third month and at delivery![2]
