Baby: Week 35

Your organs are ready to function on their own.

You’re now considered full-term. You weigh about 2.8kg and may be about 48.6cm long. Now that you have engaged, your head is surrounded and protected by mum’s pelvic bones, providing space in the uterus for your legs and buttocks.

You look like a newborn, at last.  Most of the warm lanugo body hair has disappeared; finally the wax (vernix caseosa) is also disappearing.[1]

You’re turning from side to side quite a bit, and breathing, practicing for life after birth.[2] Your organs are ready to function on their own. [3]
