The Ears
Your ears began to sprout when you were five weeks old, when bulges called branchial arches appeared.
Week 8
These arches later formed into auricular hillocks, structures that grew and joined to form the outer ears. These form the shell-shaped parts of the outer ears.
Week 16
The ears are close to reaching their final position.
Week 18
Your ears stuck out on the sides of your head. Function followed form, and you may have been able to hear! From the fifth to ninth month, your inner and middle ears developed, increasing your ability to hear.
